About the event

DMTC will hold its Annual Conference for 2022 on 7-8 April at Hotel Realm in Barton, Canberra. Our Conference in 2020 was one of the last to be held before face-to-face events were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and, while we will offer a streaming option this year, we are confident we can deliver a COVID-safe event and look forward to seeing many of you in person.

The DMTC Annual Conference has become a key event in the Defence calendar, providing an opportunity for attendees to learn about the cutting-edge technological advances being pursued across the DMTC community, and to highlight the relevance of our work to advance Australia’s sovereign industrial capability.

The 2022 Conference will include keynote presentations by prominent Defence and industry guest speakers and technical presentations from DMTC program and project leaders across our Maritime, Air and Industrial Capability Development programs, and DMTC’s newly established Health Security Systems Australia division, just to name a few.

Our Gala Dinner will be held on the evening of 7 April at the National Gallery of Australia and will include the opportunity to hear from a distinguished guest speaker, as well as the presentation of Awards of Excellence. These awards recognise significant contributions by individuals, project teams and businesses to DMTC’s vision and mission.

DMTC recognises that collaborative relationships are integral to delivering capability outcomes. Acknowledging this, the 2022 Conference will once again bring together a diverse and expertise-rich audience.

DMTC also places great emphasis on investing in the future leaders of industry and research sectors. For this reason, early career researchers connected to project teams, and students supported through DMTC’s Education program, are encouraged to attend.

DMTC acknowledges the Traditional Owners and First Nations peoples of the lands on which we work and meet. We pay our respects to them and to their elders of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
